The site is located on the small hill in Takarazuka and you can enjoy a splendid view of Osaka and Kobe. The client hopes to live with this nice view.
I proposed not only being open to the view but also wrapping a family with an object in the shape of a shell, because I wanted to balance being open and secure feeling of wrapping daily life.
This space has unique secure feeling like being in a cave.
The site was separated from road by watercourse and enclosed with cliffs made of blocks piled up four meters. It was very difficult to construct.
But this site have many kinds of stimulus from various directions.
So, I designed polyhedron shape with using triangle to introduce many kinds of stimulus in the house.
I used natural slate in the roof and wall in the part of shell. This material and polyhedron shape show various expression in a change in the weather, sunlight and lights up in the night. So this house have presence as a landmark in this town.
