The Mare Island Project was envisioned as a Story line that imagined its development over the next decade. The project was narrated through the eyes of a visitor walking through the redeveloped island in the year 2020.
The design of Mare Island is thus, the design of the Story of mare Island. Design Decisions were embedded within the story and illustrated with hand drawn sketches of what the visitor (the narrator) sees as he/she walks through it.
