In all city urban barriers exist. these are in the form of railways, roads and rivers. these barriers are the arteries of the city, but they also provide a barrier, an obstruction, something that must be crossed. Above these barriers is a space that is unused. Instead of crossing the barriers with bridges, we can extend the bridge and make it into a public green enjoyable space. My proposal only shows the idea across a river, though it can easily be replicated above a railway or road. It is important to inject a slice of the country-side into the city. Providing an undulating landscape allows the public to sit down on the undulating hills and enjoy the view, and treat the landscape as they would with hills in the country-side. The undulations allow views to be revealed as you walk along the grass - allowing a sense of surprise as you walk along the bridge.

construction will vary depending on the span and what it is spanning (i.e. water or land). In all cases - the bridge will use a system based on an intensive green roof.
