This is a project of transforming Multnomah Countys Wapato Jail to a film school and housing for youth who are in Danger of becoming homeless. The Wapato Jail has never had any prisoners before instead it was used by filming companies to record movies in which stories involved a prison. My aim was to provide a space where youth are able to live, play and work in this new home.

The project includes public and private spaces for students and visitors as the older parts of the prison remain to be a museum and photo shoot spaces. My inspiration was as I visited the wapato prison and used a skateboard to go around the different rooms and as I designed the project I proposed parts of the buildings where users can skateboard on or use to sit and study creating a dynamic building use from the outside and the inside.
