Decathlon Glass Cube was designed as a part of the development of decathlon stores across New Delhi, India. This complete glass panel installation accentuates the entrance to the store in the basement of Pacific Mall, New Delhi. The design challenge of creating an identity for the brand’s store which is deep hidden from the public under the ground was solved by highlighting and covering the entrance by a contemporary experiment in glass panels without the use of steel framing.

This lack of anchors, mullions, horizontal rails, and spandrel panels which are commonly found in curtain walls and storefronts allowed for homogeneity in the built form and continuity in its visual design. This proved to be highly useful for our design intentions to attract potential customers towards the decathlon store, to enhance the spatial experience of visitors as they descend down, to offer an ability to light up the cube at evening thus creating a lamp-like attraction, and also for the brand to enhance its brand identity.

The execution offered us challenges for it was an unconventional installation and had to be executed with ultimate sophistication and precision. Our detailed construction documentation and expertise allowed us to communicate and execute the assembly without much hassle.

Along with the glass cube installation at the Pacific Mall, New Delhi, ANA was also appointed as architecture and engineering consultants for three other Decathlon stores including the former one within Delhi and Jaipur.
