The Belvedere For A Flâneur
Hero of the modern world (flaneur) vs. the hero of the world of tradition (farmer)
A Contemporary Narrative Of Nefaar Architecture
Nazar-Gah-E-Flâneur
Location: Varaki. Sari. Iran

Nefaar is a single-room building that is located a few meters above the ground. The open area of the room allows its residents to use adequate ventilation and breeze. And also watch the fundamental changes in the surrounding landscapes in different seasons.
Regardless of physical and material qualities, Nefaar shows man's vision of existence and provides a possibility for him to deepen his mental ideas. With the change of the seasons and the change of the environment, Nefaar forces the thought of man to change.

The idea of this design was formed from the text written by Henry David Thoreau in the book of Walden, and we considered it for a Flâneur:

“In a specific season of our life, we get used to considering every corner as land to build a house. It was like this that I imagined every corner of a vast plain as a place for a mansion. In my imagination, I imagined the fields in front of my house.”

In this project, we tried to test a new experience of wandering in the form of the connection between the embodiment subject and the surrounding space.
The hero of the modern world is free to roam everywhere and observe and be observed without interacting with anyone.Wandering is a modern way of life, a need and possibility to be free. Being with delay or haste, a tendency to be lost and found.
Every place is made possible by walking and the presence of the subject. And because of the body, the flaneur's human body is read.Wandering is the art of seeing, watching, and being watched by others and enjoying the scenery.
The wanderer is placed opposite the farmer. Nefaar is a refuge for the farmer to rest for a few hours and resume her agricultural work, as well as a storehouse for her equipment. But our belvedere provides a possibility to think and observe. A kind of architecture of silence.
We are looking for another type of living space for Flâneur, which leads to the reconstruction of the connection between Flâneur and his surrounding objects through a short everyday life. Spaces should be created that carry meaning from the heart of living experience and think deeply about the issue of existence.
