"Waffen Werfen Schatten" / "Weapons Cast Shadows" was a temporary exhibition at the Swiss National Museum, Zurich. Three cathedral-type rooms were adorned with ancient weapons, suits of armor and a field tent. The museum has over 2,500 antique weapons, unseen by the public for over 20 years. Our concept: hang 5 tons of spears, daggers, flint rifles and swords from the ceiling, all pointed toward the viewer`s face. The suits of armor were hung from mobiles, animating them, spinning slowly above, like leaden angels. Speakers mounted within the suits played back heavy, anticipatory breathing. The field tent housed original erasures from J. Callot, who witnessed the brutality of war during the 17th century and recorded it for all eternity.
