With the ever increasing rot in the Nigerian society; corruption, theft, laziness….. Mentioning just a few, one wonders, where did we get it wrong?. A nation with a very rich cultural history rooted in values of respect, hard work and very importantly a good name.
The essence of this project was to design a modern architecture for a secondary school whose philosophy is the idea of an African renaissance.
The design is meant to stimulate positive relationship among fellow students as the architecture stimulates movement and vision from almost anywhere you are.
The ground floor is made free with just the stairs and drum-like seats around the columns as a another relaxation spot and also for hanging out.
The library which is on the last floor is designed that way to encourage experimentation, risk and the leaving of one’s comfort zone to explore new possibilities.

CONTEXT:
The school is designed for a very small site at Akoka, Lagos state. which is a very populated area with a night market near the school.
The locality is also noted for its proneness to flooding since it’s a little bit close to the Lagos lagoon.
