Design Philosophy

Create a path breaking architectural design which shall set a new paradigm for school education globally.
A modern, world-class, 21st century Academy inspired by the culture, traditions, context & unique identity of Bhutan.
Design is based on the principles of Organic Architecture – Buildings inspired by the site are in harmony with environment.
Design inculcates values of ‘ Learning by Doing’ through creation of built & open spaces which facilitate these principles.
Design embraces sustainability – Architecture & Engineering principles shall create an Ecologically Neutral Campus.

The following points have been considered to create Green Buildings:

Site: Buildings are complementing the site.
User: Mental and Physical health, their productivity and all needs for the users have been considered.
Nature: Climate, sun, wind are all challenges and resources at the same time. If properly designed and utilized, the buildings would consume less for providing adequate comfort.
Materials: Material selection is based on reducing the embodied energy consumption of the buildings.
Energy Neutrality: This will decide how much energy is to be consumed by the building, on ways to reduce it, on ways to optimize and stagger demand, on ways to generate energy and on ways to use waste energy generated by various processes in the buildings.

Emphasizing on water conservation measures such as rain water harvesting, waterless urinals, dual flush toilets, low flow shower heads, and reuse water for utility purpose.
