Project Description-
Domestic Airport at Ratnagiri was proposed as a secondary airport on a existing site and runway as the city features scope in development in the tourism & import-export of good locally available in the coastal areas of Maharashtra. Airport with capacity to handle 24 to 36 passengers airplanes a day was proposed.

Site Located on state highway 12, Military Aviation Base, Ratnagiri - Maharashtra

Concept-
ratnagiri being a city located on coastal area has a large influence of seas on its every day living.
Preliminary concept was developed from a wave pat tern of set of 7 waves on a coastal rocks.
The roof form ware significantly influenced and evolved from the pattern.
While the boarding areas roof was derived from a idea of foamy water after the waves.
The internal structure was also influenced by the same idea of waves and geography of the beaches.


Landside - Entrance foyer with car taxi & bus lanes, staff visitors & taxi parking

Terminal building -arrival & departure, services & staff

Apron area - traffic control tower, main apron, cargo apron aviation parking. helipads
other major areas on site include fire station,
helipad control room & office, security check points & service bays, 2 hangers for one plane each, 3 aviation parkings for remote boarding 3 aviation docks for aero bridges connected to terminal building.

Structure designed to have minimum columns in central lobbies, 3 tree columns primary frame of I beams supported by 3 tree columns & peripheral columns secondary trusses support pannel roofing & lights shelves ptfe pillow roofing on waiting lobby supported with minimum number of columns.
