The heart of universe is located in Geelong city close to Deakin University. The inspiration of this initiating building is from the previous building named Nexus Ordines. The appearance of this building seems as a spaceship exploring in the universe, which is not obvious for people who pass by to notice this is a building. However, people will be curious about what is going on inside by this flowing glass wall.
In terms of internal space, when visitors go into this complex funtion building, they will feel they are walking in the universe because this building do not have specific hierarchy so that creating a kind of space feeling. There are ten different room space surrounding a water pool in the centre of internal. The most important part of this building is “pool” which is not only why this building exist but also how it leads visitors to know the universe. The pool space is directly connected with sky by a huge roof window. During daytime, people can see themselves by the reflection of water. At night, people will see the starry sky. It is like the universe. The relationship between universe and us is like that sentence: “A conscious universe responds to how we think and feel. It gains its shape, color, sound, and texture from us…The reason we say, ‘You are the universe’ is nothing less than that is the truth.”
The amount of visitors in Geelong decreases from February to May and increases from Octorber to February because of Trimester 3 and holiday.
The amount of students in Waterfront Campus is lower than other month in January, February, July, November and December because of Trimester 3 and holiday.
