The design dissertations seek an attempt to capture the essence of changing neighborhoods and find bridges between the micro and the macro, the individual and the community, the neighborhood and the city. The dissertation process is an attempt to captivate the architectural spirit of harmony between the communities and nature.
Manori Gorai Uttan (MGU) area is a picturesque peninsula jutting into the Arabian Sea located in the extreme north-western part of the cities of Mumbai and Mira-Bhayandar. The area is un-dulating, has a rich concentration of mangroves, rare basalt rock formations and a very scenic coastline.
The plan focuses on enhancing the area as a social node with community activities and tourist participation that is high quality, conserving & enhancing the natural features, strengthening the traditional economic activities and improves the quality of life of the local
The emphasis is rather placed on "true" programmatic flexibility, seeking strategic and wellthought-out planning and relies on small changes to garner larger perceived effects. This approach thus seeks to not just create a fluid time-based design but one that will truly respond responsibly
