Hangzhou is referred to as "Heaven on Earth" {together with its distant neighbor Suzhou}. The lush green landscape, the West Lake and the legends of the city are the pride of its inhabitants. A new office park is to be constructed which embodies the values important to this slower paced city while offering a modern working environment for creative minds. The design responds to two contending streetscapes: on the one side a busy and fast 6-lane artery , the other is quiet 2-lane street abutting the hills to the south. Conceived as a mountain village, the main building houses the larger typical office floorplans while the loosely arranged and flexible units to the south are reserved for startup firms and creative studios.
