Rubin Community Center, Yeruham

The Rubin Community Center in Yeruham is part of a cultural complex in the middle of the town comprehended by a Conservatorium, a Library, a Youth Club {also planned by us} and a large Park between them.

The program of the Community Center consists of Activity Rooms, a Theatre Hall, a Dance Studio, a Multimedia Room, and Day Care Center Rooms, with a Patio in the middle of the building, as customary in Desert Architecture.

The Design Language carries two qualities very typical of our studio. One is the "Cutting Wall", emphasizing functional areas of the building and creating drama and contrast. The second is the combination of the Local Stone with the International Metal and Glass, a contrast between the "Heavy" and the "Light".
