Nature History Museum

"As people cover their bodies as a simple behavior of human existence, actually the city consists at the place where it covers the nature."

Analysis made on the selected urban context (which is now a military area in Ankara), the nature as the content review, and examinations of the situations between the two concepts results in the character differences between urban and natural conditions. The attempt of these two situations to progress within each other often results in a negative influence on the other. Because human beings are the ones who create the urban conditions, and because they cannot live in simple nature, they try to make it livable for themselves, as the result, they "urbanize". Even when people move away from the city, they either willingly or unwillingly try to urbanize where they go. Shelters and roads are the simple examples of this behavior.

A simple museum definition was made at the beginning of the design process: Museums are the spaces where the world heritages are being protected and exhibited. The aim of this design is while designing the museum also to create an atmosphere that is compatible with the content of natural history museum and to make the museum program more effective with its environment also by including other supporting programs. At the same time, it is aimed to make a proposal for transforming the military areas in Ankara to public areas by saving the counted pieces of the city with green-character, also providing the relationship between urban and green texture by considering the difference of characters that was mentioned as a result of analysis.
