3 volumes of varying dimensions are united by their austere, granite facades and characterize the area that was once central to the “stazzu’, a complex of rural buildings typical of the Gallura territory in northern Sardegna. The conversion of the buildings into a vacation home within the context of a uncontaminated landscape requires a discrete intervention and awareness of the location’s existing resources. The environmental strategies applied to the building and the application of modern technologies that utilize the renewable resources (remote controlled photovoltaics, solar panels, ground sources heat pump) affords the complex complete energetic autonomy without altering the formal character of the original structure.
