Casa Amanecer - House of Dawn - humbly sits on the top of a hill with views to the Costa Rican mountains. Inspired by sustainable and local architecture, yet with a contemporary atmosphere, the simple use of wood and concrete allows for an enhance sensory experience of space and place. A clean floor plan, modulated for ease of construction, allowed the house to be built by the client and only a few workers. Private and public amenities allow for the owners family to interact with clients, who enjoy the the alternative life style of Casa Amanecer. Local materials and techniques as much as bioclimatical design strategies were combined to allow breeze and natural light into every space.
