Stadium in Lausanne
The word “theatre” comes from the Greek language meaning “to see” and that is why people come to a stadium too. By searching the perfect shape and typology I transformed the semicircular plan of the Greek theatre in a spherical calotte that is partially inserted in the earth. The point where the stadium reaches the level of earth is the main entrance and the access for the promenade on the roof. The stadium is situated in a particular point of the valley. The circular platform of the roof gives a spectacular view over the new horizon of Lausanne city. The connection between the city and the park is virtually made by this horizontal line. You can reach the tribunes by an elliptical ramp that divides the tribune in a covered and an uncovered space. The covered part is reserved for the VIP,TV, radio, media, etc. and it also has a direct connection with a private parking. From the bottom of the valley you can see the spectacular cantilever of the calotte that dominates and becomes a reference point for the park.
