The site currently exist as a constantly
moving, overly vivid sensorial experience and
requires a building of iconic ambience to exist
without disrupting the existing energy. As a minimal
gesture, the timber facade that envelopes the
entire building, acts as a mediator between the calm
and chaotic. During the day the repetitious nature
of the vertical timber louvers privatizes the interior,
creating a mute impression within the busy
streets. With night coming and the lively ambience
leaving the streets vacant, the interior lighting
penetrates through the facade and exposes the library
and the building becomes the iconic figure that is
missing amongst the chaos of the current context.
