Design concept
Teheran in Persian means “going downwards”
This was the first inspiring factor for the concept generation, developing this concept to get a building that looks like a water fall that’s GOING DOWNWARDS.

In a country which have that vast historic background & cultural context, the design concept was to create a building that emerges from that land, In a modern skin that maintain a natural day lighting for the office space use, although carrying some features from that rich culture & historic background, through using some historic ornaments inserting them in the design as sun breakers or louvers covering some areas of this modern looking curtain wall skin.

Designing for Benetton:
As one of the famous international brands of fashion, widely distinguished all over the world with its unique colors, and creative designs, yet simple and practical at the same time, and that was the second inspiring factor, A simple & practical building with a distinguished colored elements.

• Applying technical aspects.
• Creating a clear sense of identity& cultural aspects.
• Grapping attention to the architectural and environmental quality of the retail spaces.

Materials & Construction
• A simple structural steel system is proposed, using thin steel columns & beams on a grid of 6x6 m in average, instead of using a traditional RC system that might increase the section of the columns in the -4 basement to a degree that it can t be used efficiently.
• A curtain wall is proposed to be the envelope of the building, enabling a modern look for the building, natural day lighting, taking in consideration that more than 70% of the building is used as office spaces, 15 % as retail spaces, 5% as residential spaces.
• The suggested vertical ribs covering the glass envelope are suggested to be of alu-bond or any equivalent aluminum cladding system.
• The sun breakers( the ornamental chosen pattern) are suggested to be of GRC or a light weight material, preferable to be of light color. They could be made of metal or aluminum sheets as well.
