Competition Building for Boukwunde

The Boukwunde building used to be a magnificent landmark and a symbol of architecture in general.
The main idea of the project is to show a new life after death. How it could be? Can we imagine a land which was completely burnt?
MAIN IDEA
The main goal was to imagine a piece of land after a strong fire; the new life will be different without doubt. That’s why appeared different volumes which are responding for different functions but linked with bridges above.
As soon as the building is consider being even more than the faculty of architecture, I proposed to create an underground level to combine all volumes. It’s something look like amphitheatre with a seats which are coming from each building part, they can be served as steps and also as seats for people, when performances held on in the center. It might be student performance, community activities, and parties within the university. It can also be open for a people from outside not students, but guests. They won’t be able to have an access to the main buildings of the faculty because of security entrances. At night this place will be illuminated. Entrance to this area is free for everybody but in cases when it’s necessary to isolate students and it won’t be any ability to go from building to building using underground path, upper bridges can be used as a communication element. They had access only on the upper levels. Moreover, while performance starts, bridges can be also used as extra places for students to see the lecture or something which is happened downstairs.
FUNCTION
Main entrances are located on the ground level, but with help of bridge connection it’s possible to get in every part of the University. Each building has its own function –student’s space, office space, library, bookshop, restaurant, educational facilities, lecture halls, conference rooms. Nothing is mixed; every function is separated from the other. It’s possible to close one building if it’s not in use, instead of closing the whole building. If something happened in the conference hall late in the evening, all buildings could be closed except that one where located room for conferences, as soon as it is isolated from the other volumes people can pass all buildings and go directly to the conference.
As this zone considered being a public zone underground level has free entrance for everybody
Each of the building has emergency exit and lifts, underground level comprise storage and technical rooms. From the courtyard there are four exits.
FAÇADE AND STRUCTURE
Façade is reflecting surroundings and in the same time doesn’t disappear completely. It’s like a volume which is grown from the underground. Thin strips are not transparent, glass parts are like scratches which allow showing what is happened inside.
Inside the complex façade is covered with a glass. The structure is visible through the glass. Structure of the building is a grid from which central part cut. So in this case construction is stable because it has supports in every point.
