The Observatory
The viewing pod reaches along the horizonline in order to absorb the viewer within the changing light display. The viewing pod is clad in alluminium mesh which further acts as a strobe when the Aurora Borealis is reflected within it dis-associating the viewer from their context, the disorientation from their immediate physical surrounding is replaced with an ever changing horizon line simulating the light patterns surrounding the pod.
The wrapped surfaces are influenced by the changing light levels, sensors respond shifting the frame`s pistons and choreographing the pod with the aurora borealis. The wrapped surfaces snap out of and into position so as to simulate the particle animation of the aurora borealis movement.
