To be held  between 2 October–2 November 2008, BIO is a comparative international exhibition of industrial design,visual communications and design concepts. It is one of the few eventsin the world to present, every two years, an expert selection ofindustrial design products and to promote, through well designedproducts by Slovene and foreign designers, contemporary trends in worldindustrial design. Since the first BIO event in 1964, twentysuccessful international presentations of design have been organised.Due to the international character of the Biennial and a broad networkof contacts with international organisations and individuals that haveoffered their collaboration and support, BIO is one of the mostimportant events in Central European design. The independentinternational selection committee that selects the exhibits and thedistinguished international jury that selects the award-winnersguarantee high-level professionalism and prominence of the event.
