Zaha faces two big-hitters and little-known Brit in San Francisco comp

Zaha Hadid has been shortlisted alongside Steven Holl and DillerScofidio & Renfro to design the new $35 million {£17.5 million}Museum of Performance & Design, San Francisco, California.The `superstar` trio is joined by little-known London-born architectMark Dziewulski, who has worked with American-Russian ballet dancerMikhail Baryshnikov on his submission. Dziewulski, who has offices in Notting Hill and San Francisco, wasthe only one of the finalists to draw up plans for the new building {pictured}. Formerly the San Francisco Performing Arts Library & Museum, themuseum wants to build a new facility at the corner of Folsom and ThirdStreet. A winner is expected to be announced in September, however it isunderstood that neither Hadid, nor any of her team, showed up a fewweeks ago at an event organised by the museum
