COMPETITION AND NETWORKS

Almost 400 students of architecture from around the world are registered to participate in the student confrontation organised as part of the upcoming UIA congress in Durban (3-7August 2014). The competition brief was developed to spotlight the complex ecology of the Warwick Junction site in Durban: a hub for the city's transportation networks as well as informal communications and commerce. Participants are asked to imagine solutions that will benefit both the local community and the half a million people who pass through Warwick Junction every day. The jury is composed of Rahul Mehrotra, Tasmi Quazi, Luyanda Mphahlwa, Joe Osae-Addoet and Marianela Jiménez Calderón.
