Call for Correspondents:A10 Magazine

EUROPE - A10 new European architecture is distributed throughout Europe. The magazine reports on new buildings and projects by tomorrow's stars, forgotten masters and as yet unknown talents, devoting equal attention to the architectural production in Western, Central and Eastern Europe. We owe this coverage to our much valued network of correspondents, who are located all over Europe. A10 magazine is currently seeking to expand this vital network in the following countries: Albania, Belarus, Georgia, Greece,Russia and Iceland.
Requirements
Suitable candidates should meet the following criteria:
- A demonstrated experience in writing about architecture and related subjects
- Excellent comprehension and writing abilities in English
- Knowledge of recent developments, particularly regarding new and emerging architecture offices, as well as exhibitions, symposia, biennales, etc.
- An ability to place architectural developments in the political, social, cultural and historical context of the country or region in question
- His/her own wide-ranging (inter)national architecture connections
- Formal education in architecture, its criticism and/or history
What's Involved
A10 correspondents write for On the spot (news), Start (competitions/new projects), Ready (completed projects), Home/Office (houses or offices designed by architects for their own use), Debut (an architect's first completed project), Tour guide (explores architecture in a European city or region), Eurovision (an in-depth focus on a single country or region) and Out of obscurity (forgotten buildings of the modern era). They may also write for the magazine's website. Occasionally correspondents may take part in juries, conferences, debates and related events.
Application Guidelines
Along with individual proposals to write about three (3) projects in your country, including a clear explanation of your approach/angle, please send your résumé, letter of motivation and at least two examples of published texts to Kim Hoefnagels, editor ([email protected]), prior to 12 April 2014.
