Hand-picked for their considerable experience and astute perceptions, we’ve assembled the world’s leading authorities on concrete to cast a critical eye over the entries. This year’s panel includes:

David Richards, Arup
David leads integrated engineering teams on a variety of projects and has worked across Europe and the USA. His projects have included headquarter office buildings, commercial developments, cultural facilities, university campus buildings and airports, from concept design to completion. David is an expert in all aspects of strategic planning of the building, from the co-ordination and integration of structure and services systems to thermal modelling and façade performance.

David Bennett, Architectural Concrete Consultant
David Bennett is a specialist advisor and architectural concrete consultant to architects, contractors, consulting engineers, interior designers and developers. Specialising on the use and application of insitu and precast architectural concrete in framed buildings, basements, floors, landscape, staircases and interiors including architectural concrete. He has also published a number of books including “Exploring Concrete Architecture”.

Jo Coenen, Jo Coenen architects & urbanists
Jo Coenen’s collaborative approach is based on his view that buildings cannot be isolated; they are inextricably linked to the surroundings and vice versa. His architecture can be seen as a composition rather than as an abstract system of rules. An architect for over thirty years, practicing internationally, Jo Coenen has simultaneously contributed to the built environment by the design of individual projects and master plans.

Steven Rainville and Kevin Kudo-King,
Olson Kundig Architects

Steven Rainville has collaborated on some of their most visible projects and his work celebrates the tectonics of the built environment, exploring all facets of design collaboration from architecture and art to science and technology. Kevin Kudo-King is noted for his collaborations with artists and craftspeople, incorporating their unique work into his broad range of project types, from private residences to cultural and mixed-use buildings to art installations and institutional design.
