The 2008-2009 GREEN COMMUNITY Competition is oriented to challengestudents to rethink their communities. From major cities to collegecampuses designers, planners, policy makers, and citizens arerethinking their own towns and cities’ relationship to the environment,from where the energy originates, to where the garbage goes. GREENCOMMUNITY Competition will expand on themes from the National BuildingMuseum’s sustainable exhibits Green Community {2008-2009}, Big andGreen {2003}, and The Green House {2006–2007}. GREEN COMMUNITYCompetition will focus entirely on the issues of sustainabledevelopment—how can we plan, design, and construct the world betweenour buildings
