The scheme is the work of starchitect Santiago Calatrava who is famed for his skeletal designs, something that is again on show here. The project features a typically ribbed main bdy serving as a hall and hub with a steel structure creating an almost vault-like place. In between the structural steel will be highly transparent glazing to help flood it with natural light, perhaps creating the feeling that if medieval cathedral builders had been able to make such things they would have.
