The Landscape Of The Year 2025 went to the Embracing Flood: Xinjiang River Ecological Corridor by Turenscape in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, China.

The World Architecture Festival took place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, United States on 12 - 14 November 2025.

A 102-hectare floodplain in Shangrao City is revitalized and turned into a thriving ecological and recreational area by the Xinjiang River Ecological Corridor.

The initiative restores native ecosystems, improves flood resilience, and provides year-round public access by utilizing sponge city concepts.

The design embraces water as a dynamic element and incorporates it into the environment to promote biodiversity and urban resilience rather than fending against seasonal floods.

The corridor protects the city from climate dangers while reestablishing people's connection to nature through an economical and low-maintenance method. It is both a regional landmark and a scalable model for cities around the world that are vulnerable to flooding.
