Towns of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Town Pollution and Properties Quality

Definitely, there is a significant and pressing problem with the town pollution and climate quality in many towns across Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in urban areas. The article by World Architecture reporter and architect Emina Čamdžić is discussing the raising problem of town pollution and climate quality. The upscaled number of cars on the roads, with an increase in construction that lacks proper regulation, contributes to a deteriorating environment and increased habituating of towns. The uncontrolled expansion of urban areas leads to a phenomenon where towns are growing in size also in population density. This development raises questions about the quality of life in these towns including the climate quality.

The influx of vehicles has resulted in a marked increase in pollutants, including Nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, Carbon dioxide, Sulphur dioxide, which are detrimental to public health and the environment. The increased uncontrolled construction while contributing to economic growth, frequently ignores essential environmental regulations and standards. This leads to increased dust and emissions from construction sites, thus degrading the living quality in towns.

Overbuilt towns and densely populated cities with problems associated with town pollution become even more pronounced, especially where the wind flow has decreased. Residents are increasingly exposed to harmful pollutants, which can lead to a variety of health issues, including respiratory problems, cardiovascular diseases and other chronic conditions. Moreover, the impact of living in a polluted environment can affect the overall well-being.

The quality of life diminishes as green spaces are sacrificed for new properties, leaving fewer areas for residents to escape the urban environment and enjoy higher amount of oxygen in the town climate.

The climate quality according to new installed measuring stations in the towns of Bosnia and Herzegovina is of very low quality and is not anymore the question whether the town climate is polluted with pollutants. Increased temperatures and climate effects have brought that the towns are not healthy towns and the unhealthy climate quality has a chain reaction on residents, who are barely aware of the harmful effects of town pollution. In the winter period the problem of town pollution has become even more expressed, where the quality of properties locations is questioned.

When looking at public building informations, there is lack of information about the building elements: the size of the proposed and described buildings with the size of the building sites, the flow of people and cars in the area and building storeys as well as location climate.

To strengthen the living quality, there should be green zone with trees in the term of strengthening the soil and cleaning the polluted towns, types of trees and the positive effect of green zones on the health of people. Moreover, to know what type of trees are producing higher amounts of oxygen and increasing wind flow.

Decreasing emissions of Carbon dioxide, Sulphur dioxide and Nitrogen oxides from the towns is important for the town climate quality.

The problem  of climate quality in towns which has to be solved and is already mentioned quite, then needs to be highlighted how important climate quality is and the effect on humans, plant world and animal world, and the quality of properties on certain locations in towns.
