designRESERVE has created a shop that is attached to Beijing historic Hutong houses with white-colored skin in Beijing, China. 

Named White Is Good Shop, the 50-square-metre shop is located in the village of Weipo, a suburb of Luoyang, the ancient capital city of multiple dynasties in Chinese history.

The neighborhood around the ancient marketplace, which is surrounded by historic courtyards and kiln houses that have been preserved as museums, is anticipated to experience a resurgence of community life, supported by recently built boutique stores, cultural institutions, and recreational spaces.

"White Is Good Shop" by HOWHITE, which is well-known for its carefully chosen home goods packed with simple, white eco-friendly materials, is the most anticipated among new business owners. Since its initial debut in the historic Hutong neighborhood of Beijing, the brand has become well-known for its distinctive minimalist design.

DesignRESERVE builds a retail anchor in the center of the Weipo neighborhood on a commission from HOWHITE. The brand's new fifty-square-meter location faces the village market's entrance plaza.

In contrast to the brand's characteristic neat and organized style, a unique concrete structure is displayed inside to highlight the space's rawness. With a new shell, the building is converted into a public meeting place outside, emphasizing its openness and brightness.
