World-renowned British architect Prof. Ian Ritchie, founder of Ian Ritchie Architects spoke to World Architecture Community in an exclusive interview at this year's World Architecture Festival, which was held between 28-30, 2018 at RAI, Amsterdam. In a 5-minute interview, Ritchie was in conversation with Prof. Dr. Abdi Güzer, both an architect and critique. 

The architect briefly talked about the importance of World Architecture Festival Awards, his presentation about the Royal Academy of Music Theatre and Recital Hall in London, the nature of project presentations at WAF in general and evaluated the participation processes of WAF in terms of young generation architects. 

Ian Ritchie Architects' Royal Academy of Music Theatre and Recital Hall, London, United Kingdom was shortlisted for WAF's 2018 Awards in "Completed-Higher Education and Research" category. 

The studio transformed the Susie Sainsbury Theatre, the Angela Burgess Recital Hall, five new percussion studios, jazz room and audiovisual control room, and 14 refurbished practice and dressing rooms with a new look for the Royal Academy of Music in 2017. 

Earlier this year, Ian Ritchie gave a talk at Yildiz Teknik University in Istanbul. His lecture discussed "Innovation, Designing with the Mind in Mind and a little on Designing for Music." 

Ian Ritchie established his own practice in 1981 in London, Ian Ritchie Architects (iRAL). Ian Ritchie’s first building – Fluy House, exploiting solar energy – had been completed in 1978 in France.

Ian Ritchie Architects is currently working on a €40m Trident Park - a new office development in Malta. The firm will also transform the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine's research laboratories, education and support spaces within their Keppel Street Grade II Listed building into an exceptional facility over the next 5 years.
