Students shape the future of airport design with Fentress Architects

PLANE-SITE has released its new video showing how students shape the future of airport design to respond to dramatic changes in aviation field, which was documented in an exhibition in Venice.

Students from the NC State College of Design have collaborated with Wayne Place, professor of architecture, and Curtis Fentress, FAIA, RIBA; Ana-Maria Drughi; and Joshua Stephens, AIA, NCARB, of Fentress Architects, the students developed comprehensive strategies for their chosen sites, including proposals that focused on issues of sustainability, ecology, building technology, and social justice.

Exhibited at the Time Space Existence biennial exhibition hosted by the European Cultural Centre, the exhibition can still be visited until November 25, 2018 in Venice.

Through architectural models and video renderings, the exhibition posits imaginative concepts of future innovation in air travel and anticipates the constantly evolving challenges of airport design.
