Sarbjit Bahga has been appointed as India's Country Reporter, as part of the WAC's Country Editors/Reporters program. Sarbjit Bahga is one of World Architecture Community's most loyal members, authors and reporters, since the WAC was established. Bahga is always ready to create a fast news coverage on WAC, specifically focusing on Indian contemporary architecture, new commissions, events, competitions, and detailed reporting of any event. His writings present a profound view of Indian architecture, starting from analysis of all the historical changes to a critical perspective of its present conditions. Bahga is very dedicated, passionate and self-disciplined during the process of his writings. His most popular article An Ode To Shivnath Prasad: The Le Corbusier Of India has reached over 21,178 views at the time of this article.

Sarbjit Singh Bahga is a Chandigarh based architect, urbanist, author, and photo-artist. He has 37 years of practical experience in designing of various types of buildings, complexes and large campuses. His buildings are interesting and responsive to function, climate, and materials. Bahga is a staunch modernist and an ardent, yet not blind, admirer of Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Louis Kahn. A monograph on his selected works titled, "Modern Regionalism: The Architecture of Sarbjit Bahga" has recently been published.

"I feel privileged to represent my country at the World Forum. The position of a Reporter, especially on an international forum like WAC, was really a challenging one. But with the constant guidance of the seniors, I have learnt a lot and am improving day by day," added Bahga.

Bahga is also a keen researcher, and a prolific architectural writer. He has eight books to his credit. He takes special interest in the overall development of profession of architecture and improvement of built-environment. He is an active member of many professional associations including the Indian Institute of Architects. He is three-time recipient of World Architecture Community Awards. His name has been featured in Guinness Book of World Records for designing "longest covered concrete corridor" in Vidya Sagar Institute of Mental Health, Amritsar.

"I applied for the position of a Reporter on WAC to showcase the rich architectural heritage of India to the world," Bahga told World Architecture Community.

"And, yes, the framework at WAC is quite flexible to work within. Surely, the position of Country Editor will be of great value but it will be quite challenging as well."

"I will try to reach out to maximum number of architects through emails and social media."

"I share my WAC page on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin etc. I am always interested in good architecture and new ideas, so I read any news of outstanding merit, irrespective of the country of its origin," he concluded.
