Students And Young Architects In Durban

The members of the recently created UIA committees for young architects and students of architecture participated for the first time in the Congress and General Assembly, demonstrating from the start their commitment to playing a determining role in the actions and future of the UIA.
Joseph Lai is coordinator of the Young Architects Committee. An American architect of Taiwanese origin, he is involved in the American Institute of Architect’s activities (AIA), and in issues related to diplomas, access to the profession and commissions for young architects. He is secretary of the AIA Potomac Valley chapter. Marine de la Guérande is reporter for the YA Committee. She is a French architect who began her career in Tokyo alongside Shigeru Ban. She is in private practice in her own studio in Paris, and is vicepresident of the Ile de France Regional council of architects.The other committee members are Meropi Karantaki (Greece), Joshua Morrin (Australia), and Sikhumbuzo Mtembu (South Africa).
