Barangaroo architect Chris Wilkinson favours taller towers for Sydney’s skyline

The award-winning architect designing James Packer’s $2 billion Barangaroo casino resort believes Sydney’s skyline would benefit from allowing the construction of taller towers.
Britain’s Wilkinson Eyre founder, Chris Wilkinson, spoke out while revealing design details for the lower three levels of Crown Sydney, where dozens of restaurants, cafes and shops will be located, as well as the casino.
The “podium” levels will be draped with a veil of struts inspired by London’s gothic St Paul’s Cathedral and its 17th-century architect, Sir Christopher Wren.
“It is absolutely vital we work very, very hard to ensure the podium works well at eye level, as this is how most people will experience the building,’’ Mr Wilkinson said....Continue Reading
