The design concept behind this quadrate, mixed-use development in Antwerp, Belgium is simple: a space that encourages social interaction among neighborhoods. And we’re talking about more than just a communal amenity lounge — although the project will have those too.
Designed by C.F. Moller Architects and Brut Architecture and Urban Design, homes in the 24-story building will be grouped into mini-communities with students, families and “live-work types” living together. The residential units will open up onto large communal balconies and gardens.
The development will be home to many other neighborly amenities, including a bicycle repair shop, communal ground floor, terrace gardens and a three-level “green oasis” at the top of the tower.
Residents will move in and start making friends sometime in 2017.
