MIPIM Awards, an internationally-renowned real estate competition at MIPIM, has announced the winners for MIPIM 2017 Awards competing for the world's largest property market, which includes Santiago Calatrava's Museum of Tomorrow in Brazil, Beyazıt State Library by Tabanlioglu Architects and GAPS – New Psychiatric Hospital in Denmark by Karlsson Architects, Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects.
The jury, chaired this year by John Forrester, CEO EMEA of Cushman & Wakefield, reviewed the 214 entries received this year, and shortlisted the top four projects in each of the 11 competition categories. The winning projects selected from 11 categories alongside Special Jury Award.
From 14 to 16 March, MIPIM delegates voted for their favourite project in each of the 11 categories at the MIPIM Awards Gallery. This vote, combined with the jury's vote, represented 50% of the final result.
Each jury member explained on the ceremony stage why they selected the winning project and what is the success behind the project. John Forrester also talked about the evaluation process of the projects, which took place in Paris on 24 January, 2017.
