The funding for Roskilde Festival Folk High School has been finalised and the detailing phase of the project can now commence. Roskilde Festival Folk High School will be part of ROCK magneten located in Roskilde’s new creative neighbourhood Musicon, along with the new Danish Rock Museum. Built in and around an existing factory building the 3.600 m2 folk high school will be the first folk high school to be built since 1969. The Roskilde Festival Folk High School’s program will include teaching facilities as well as student housing, workshops and conference facilities. The architecture is created by MVRDV in collaboration COBE co-architects, and the funding is granted by A.P. Møller Fonden and Realdania together with Roskilde Municipality and Roskilde Festival.

Project construction begins in 2015 and is expected to be completed by 2017.
