’In/visible City’ revealed as reSITE 2017 Theme

reSITE, the most interactive conference of the world, has released its theme for 2017 and reSITE's will discuss In/visible City for all, living in the cities. The springboard for a wide range of lectures and activities when reSITE – Europe’s biggest annual conference – returns on June 22-23, 2017 in Prague's Forum Karlin.

At #reSITE2017, the conference will focus on how the invisible shapes the visible in a city. What does that mean? ''We are fascinated by the anatomy of cities. We will focus on where design meets infrastructure and the presence of these vital systems in the architecture and landscape of cities. We will explore everything that makes a city functional, that drives the economy and consumes a consequent part of municipal budgets - despite being invisible like technical infrastructure such as water,'' said Martin Barry, Founder of reSITE.

reSITE will present and debate the urban landscapes, buildings, networks, and social participation processes that help define urban design of the future. The conference will showcase high quality projects, the interface of infrastructure with private developments and citizens, awarded designs and smart approaches.

The International Conference is inviting today's most inspiring and innovative architects, landscape architects, planners, municipal leaders, real estate developers and city makers to exchange ideas, push the limits of how we think about city making and give practical examples with successful solutions. Find new opportunities, partners, collaborators and ways to improve our cities at reSITE 2017.

reSITE is dedicated to understanding the intersection of design, policy, culture and economy in a continually urbanizing world. reSITE was founded in 2011 as a non-profit (spolek) organization based in Prague. Martin Barry, Regina Loukotova and Milota Sidorova were founding members of the non-profit organization in the Czech Republic.

Last year, reSITE discussed 'Cities in Migration' with many global leaders, architects, urban planners, sociologists, writers and city leaders to make the cities more efficient, liveable and flexible. World Architecture Community is an official media partner for reSITE.

World Architecture Community recorded some of presentations and keynote sessions at reSITE 2016, which are available on WAC's Urban Development page. World Architecture Community also made an interview with Prof. Saskia Sassen and Mimi Hoang, co-founding Principal of nArchitects during the event.

reSTE will open the registrations later in November and Studio Najbrt was selected to design reSITE 2017 visual identity and conference experience.
