Zaha Hadid Architects named ‘Fastest Growing Practice’ in this year’s AJ100

British Magazine The Architects' Journal has completed AJ100 report, which is the definitive survey of the biggest UK architecture practices. This year, AJ100’s firms collectively employ 6,811 qualified architects in the UK, as well as thousands of support staff. The AJ100 survey is the authoritative study of the business of architecture in the UK, providing detailed insight into the current performance of the sector.

The Fastest Growing Practice award is given to the AJ100 firm that increased its fee earnings and number of qualified architect employees by the highest percentage. Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) was a standout winner in this category, having doubled its number of architects from the previous total whilst also increasing relative income.

"This is a very impressive degree of growth for a practice of this size," cited the AJ. "And this was true organic growth, with the practice taking on more staff to service its burgeoning workload.”

''The award reflects increasing demand from clients around the world and the growing success of the practice. Important designs recently announced for Moscow, Prague, Nuremberg, Bournemouth and New York will be joined by further new projects worldwide over the coming months,'' said Mouzhan Majidi, ZHA Chief Executive.

ZHA’s recently completed projects include the Salerno Maritime Terminal and Oxford University’s Middle East Centre. The practice is currently working on more than 40 projects in 24 countries including the New Beijing Airport Terminal in China, 520 West 28th Street in New York and the CityLife Tower in Milan for Generali. ZHA’s portfolio comprises cultural, academic, residential, corporate, sporting and infrastructure projects across six continents.
