Join the Design Trust on Thursday, July 9th to hear the Fellows' perspectives on the process and opportunities that led to our new publication, Under the Elevated: Reclaiming Space, Connecting Communities.
As Design Trust Fellows, Neil Donnelly, Susannah Drake, Krisanne Johnson, Chat Travieso, and Douglas Woodward engaged in a comprehensive analysis of New York City's elevated infrastructure. Working together over two years on our Under the Elevated project, the Fellows formulated creative responses to the challenges of so-called “el-space.” Their fruitful collaboration culminated in the release of the Under the Elevated report: a comprehensive 218 page publication that lays out how to turn these much-maligned public spaces into urban assets.
The event will begin with a short presentation by the Fellows about their work, followed by an informal conversation about the project and its potential going forward. Immediately afterwards, join us as we celebrate the Fellows and their work on Buro Happold's rooftop terrace. Light refreshments will be provided and copies of the book will be available for purchase.
