32BNY, launched by Steven Holl Architects, has released its new videopolemic on architecture and experimental thinking featuring Eric Owen Moss short talk. In 6-min video, titled The Architecture of Discomfort, American architect talks about sub-codes of intellectual thinking in the production of architectural knowledge and reality and hierarchy/differentiation between professional life and school environment by exemplifying SCI-Arc's education system. 

Moss also talks about the structural system of his high-rise building 'The (W) rapper/Glass Tower' in South Central Los Angeles and says that ''in order to do a building which is better than not doing a building, we have to essentially rewrite the building code''.

''We are looking for cracks, looking for possibilities to encourage people to explore those kinds of possibilities''. The architect claims that ''I think the fundamental notion about what drives a place in an aspirational sense, in an idealist sense. But, in an aspirational sense; the culture moves, and instability makes it move and instability means; confusion, discomfort, uncertainty.''

32BNY's videopolemics are posted every two months and those short talks are dedicated to the intrinsic values of urbanism and architecture, which are very vague today. 32BNY has a print archive to discover experimental thinking and learning, which was all series reformed in print.

Eric Owen Moss taught at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in 1974 and was appointed director in 2002. Eric Owen Moss was awarded an Austrian Decoration of Honor for Science and Art during a ceremony at the Hofburg Palace in June, 2016.
