Daekwon Park has established his web-based architectural studio, ’Meta-Territory_Studio’ in 2008. His studio engages in theoretical and conceptual design investigations which in his words, ‘’functions as the counterbalance force between reality and vision”. Recent work includes his prize-winning competition entries for the Inter-continental connection through the Bering Strait; the new Australian Pavilion for the Venice Biennale; and the conceptual vertical structure project, ‘Symbiotic Interlock’.

Daekwon was born in Daegu, Korea. He has studied and worked in Korea, USA, Germany, China, Japan, Spain and Italy prior to moving to Australia in 2009. Recently, he has won the 2014 Incheon Asian Games Main Stadium Design competition with the global design practice, ‘Populous’ (Formerly HOK Sport) as the project designer and currently manages the project in the Brisbane office. He is also the founding member of ‘Arch204’, an international design group that focuses on architectural design collaboration and public exhibition activities. Daekwon is a licensed architect in the United States, an active member of the American Institute of Architect (AIA) and a LEED Accredited Professional.
