Alan G. Gass, FAIA, is a founder of AIA/Denver Urban Design Committee. Throughout his time in practice, and to the present day, Alan continues to provide pro-bono services as a member of appointed boards, urban design and transportation committees, the Denver, Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the City of Denver, the City Club of Denver, and Temple Emanuel. Alan is been president of the Babi Yar Park Foundation, that originally developed and built Babi Yar Park in Denver, and, with the Mizel Museum, continues to develop the 27-acre Denver Holocaust memorial.
Alan given tours and talks on architecture, urban design, and energy conservation to consulting engineers and the vice-governor of China’s Hunan Province, and students and faculty at the Universities of Colorado, Denver, and Chicago. He has given courses in architecture and urban design in the University of Denver’s VIVA! {now OLLI} program. In addition, he continues to give “Expert Tours” of Downtown Denver in the Doors Open Denver program, OLLI, and to other interested groups.
