The daughter of graphic designers, Laura Gottwald grew up in a modernist house, resplendent with a curious mix of Eames & George Nelson furniture with antiques.

As a Rhode Island School of Design undergraduate, she co-founded Amperzand, an innovative, multi-disciplinary design firm with a diverse range of clients.

In 1987 she opened lg& to focus on interior design and designing products for interiors.
