Bharathi Prem, an Architect graduate from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore from the year 1995, is one of the leading architects promoting green building & sustainable structures and is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional from USGBC.
She along with her husband Prem Kumar heads their firm bharathi prem associates at banashankari-3rd stage, Bangalore. In her more than 2 decades of Practice they have designed various Residences, Institutes, Resorts, Hospitals, etc.,
Also a visiting faculty at various schools of architecture and has given presentations on green building at various institutes.
She is the recipient of
• IGEN 2012 top 50 architects of India,
• International Property awards for Public spaces in Asia pacific region
• Buildtech 2018 award for her project Pyramid Valley International, on Kanakapura road, Bengaluru.
• Smart Cities 2019 award
Her various projects have been featured in many leading architectural journals such as Indian Architect and Builder, Society Interiors, Journal of Indian Institute of Architects, Architect and Interiors, Architecture Update, Interior Design, Better Interiors, India art and design, D’zen, Vijay times and various television channels.
Is Married to Prem Kumar, a Civil Engineer from BIT, with a degree in Business Administration and M.S. in Psychology. He has authored two Books Zero to Hero and The Empty Cup, which has been very well accepted. He has been working on empowering the students at rural schools, and involved himself in various social activities.
