Figen {Orçun} Kafescioglu was born in 1963 in Istanbul. She has graduated from TED Ankara College in 1981, and University of Mimar Sinan Architectural Faculty in 1986 with Master’s Degree. She became a Research Assistant in in the same Faculty, Interior Spatial Organisation and Design Branch in 1990. She got her doctorate in 2001 with her thesis “Evaluation of the Affordances of the Man-made Environment on the Spatial Processes in Elder People’s Living Areas” in Science Institute of MSU. She became an assistant professor in 2002. She has entered several architectural competitions and given papers to seminars. She continues studying in the same branch in Mimar Sinan University.
