Dr. Noureddine Zemmouri Biography

Dr. Noureddine Zemmouri is an associate professor director of the graduate program Building Science and Sustainability at Department of Architecture University of Biskra in Algeria. He serves as the faculty member responsible for most of the coursework in lighting and computing in architecture and recently appointed as head of the Department. He also served as head of studies and president of the scientific board of the department for many years. He belongs to many research groups working on environmental issues in architecture including:  Climate and Architecture UCL {Belgium}, EPFL Lausanne {Switzerland}, SAS Dortmund {Germany} and three years ago as a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the MBS program at the USC School of Architecture in Los Angeles. He has managed projects and design offices in Algeria and the U.K.  Most of his research work during the last two years focuses on technology and its implications on architectural education. Dr. Zemmouri is also member in many international organizations {CIE, ASTF, FAST, CSBE, ASCAAD} and involved as a group leader in many research projects on environmental design and Islamic Architecture.
